  • $100 Selection of paperback children’s fiction purchased from Scholastic Literacy Partners
  • $250 Selection of fiction and non-fiction purchased from Scholastic Literacy Partners
  • $500 Teaching resources such as Big Books and reference books including dictionaries, atlases and science texts
  • $1,000 Selection of children's hardcover non-fiction books and Caribbean literature purchased at a discount to form a library "starter" collection

Ninety-four percent of your donation to Hands Across the Sea, Inc. goes directly to Hands' programs and specific Wish Lists that you designate through the PayPal interface. If you do not have a specific school, library, or community reading program in mind, we will allocate the funds to fulfill current Wish Lists of the Caribbean Literacy and School Support (CLASS) program. We compile our wish list through requests from U.S. Peace Corps volunteers, school principals, community leaders and NGOs working to improve literacy and education in the English-speaking Eastern Caribbean.

Our non-profit pays no salaries, and management and fundraising expenses are just 6%. (Please note that ownership, maintenance, equipment, and living expenses for the Hands' base of operations, the 46-foot sailboat Hands Across the Sea, is paid for by the Linskeys, not by Hands Across the Sea, Inc.) Your gift will be applied toward providing access to great books and teaching resources for students, teachers, libraries and community reading programs.
